Resistivity and Density Structure of Limboto Lake—Pentadio, Gorontalo, Indonesia Based on Magnetotelluric and Gravity Data

Limboto Lake—Pentadio area is located in the province of Gorontalo on northern arm Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, which experienced a tectonic process from Sula Platform collision mid-Miocene. This led to westward subduction early Miocene and post-collision rifting uplifting arc along North Trench during Late Quaternary periods. The resulted formation graben zone W–E direction. There are geothermal surface manifestations near Lake, such as hot spring complexes, with temperatures ranging 74.8 °C 78.5 °C. To understand geological structure prospective characteristics beneath investigated area, we performed integrated magnetotelluric gravity surveys. preferred 3D resistivity model confirmed presence fault system that was filled conductive bodies (~1–15 Ωm) corresponding alluvium deposits. result accordance 2D density inferred data, where low-density value indicates zone. conceptual constructed using information MT results, study. illustrates Lake—Pentadio, controlled by system.
